Elk Creek Interpretive Trail

A ¾ mile interpretive trail was installed in the lower Elk Creek watershed in about 1987. The trail loops out and back and at one time linked to the ocean, beach and Crescent City Harbor. The original purpose of the trail was to support educational programs and increase public awareness and understanding of sensitive habitats and the need for protection of the lower Elk Creek Area. The trail is located on land owned by the Department of Fish and Wildlife acquired in the same timeframe.
