Today we celebrate the purchase of an additional 26 parcels in two closings.
A group of 18 former tax-default parcels was acquired and added to the Lake Earl Wildlife Area. A special thanks to Del Norte County which agreed to dedicate the properties to conservation purposes. In addition, Smith River Alliance and Del Norte County teamed up to clear sand clean up some parcels containing trash and debris.
A Group of 8 parcels was purchased from private landowners and transfer to the LEWA is pending.
80% of the subdivision is now in public ownership.
