Join the Smith River Alliance on Tuesday, July 5, from 10AM to 12PM for our annual post-July 4th coastal cleanup along our coastlines in Del Norte County! Please RSVP by following the link here: LINK TO RSVP

We will focus on recovering fireworks and trash leftover from the July 4th festivities along beaches in Crescent City and Del Norte County.

We are meeting in the parking lot next to House of Jambalaya on Anchor Way at 10am, a short safety talk will occur before dividing into smaller groups and starting the cleanup.

What to bring:

  • Closed-toe shoes and long pants are required for safety reasons.
  • Please bring a water bottle as we want to reduce single-use plastics.
  • We will have gloves but if you have a pair you prefer, please feel free to bring them.

We would like to thank the Del Norte Solid Waste Management Authority for waiving all fees associated with the trash collected during this coastal cleanup effort.

P.S. We are looking for a special team of volunteers assisting staff July 4th to talk to beach goers about joining us on our July 5 cleanup and to handout garbage bags for people to pick up after themselves. If you are interested, please contact Gustavo at the email below.
