As a non-profit organization, SRA relies on grants, private donations, and sponsorships to protect and restore the spectacular forests, rivers, and wildlife of the greater Smith River ecosystem and Del Norte County. SRA’s business partners or “River Guardians” are varied, located around the West, and they all share a commitment and appreciation for our work —- from priority land acquisitions and habitat restoration to cleaning up illegal dumping sites. It always takes a team and our River Guardians are vital partners!
River Guardians are visionary businesses that contribute at least $500 worth of equipment, services, or financial support annually. Take for example Kokatat Watersports, which donates essential gear, including drysuits for monitoring salmonid populations. “For more than 50 years Kokatat has manufactured products to enable safe and comfortable enjoyment of the outdoors. Kokatat is committed to supporting organizations focused on the preservation of such wild places.” – Matt Porter, Kokatat Watersports Wear.
Pierson Building Center, Scurfield Electric, and Stillwater Sciences have been key project partners for decades. Hiouchi Café, Los Bagels, Rumiano Cheese, and Sea Front Baking Company provide delicious food and venues to support SRA’s dedicated staff and volunteer workforce. Green Pacific Real Estate has proven to be an essential partner on acquisition projects. If you own a business, there is a role for you with SRA!
