Smith River Alliance, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and partners are pleased to invite you to learn more about the Lower Elk Creek Wetland Enhancement Project planning effort. The project is primarily located on the Elk Creek Wetlands Wildlife Area, which is upstream of Highway 101 on the east side of Crescent City in Del Norte County. Restoration is needed in Elk Creek due to its urban interface and history of alteration which have reduced the quantity and quality of habitat for fish and wildlife. Projects that improve water quality and enhance fish and wildlife habitat can also build a more climate-resilient community. To learn more and provide your input and ideas, please join us!
