South Fork Canyon Wildfire Preparedness Meeting

Smith River Alliance will host the annual South Fork Canyon Wildfire Preparedness Meeting at Rock Creek Ranch (Outdoor Use Area) on Saturday, April 1, 2023. The meeting will be from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M.. Pizza and light refreshments will be provided.

This meeting will focus on defensible space, “home hardening”, wildfire prevention field guides, as well as a tour of the preventative measures being used at Rock Creek Ranch. Some of these measures include home hardening like reducing fuels around buildings and showcasing its means of stopping uncontrolled fires through its water systems.

Partners and co-hosts for this event include the Del Norte Fire Safe Council, the Smith River National Recreation Area, and CalFire.
