A special thanks to our local volunteers who participated to the event in 2021 and helped continue this long-term survey effort of adult-salmonids in the Smith River Basin, which began in 1982.

50 volunteers surveyed 14 different reaches on July 31, 2021. The crew traveled 23.60 miles of stream, 16.38 miles along the South Fork and 7.22 miles along the Middle Fork and North Fork of the Smith River.

Survey highlights include fish observations including: 818 coastal cutthroat trout, 1 spring chinook, 17 summer steelhead, 23 steelhead half-pounders and 97 rainbow trout.
