Add Oregon Headwaters to the Smith National Recreation Area!!

On November 18, 2020, Senator Wyden testified on behalf of Smith River NRA expansion at a hearing on the legislation in the Senate Energy + Natural Resources Committee’s Subcommittee on Public Lands, Forests, and Mining.

We acknowledge and thank Senator Feinstein for signing on as a cosponsor!

SRA will continue to work with U.S. Oregon Senators Merkley and Wyden and a team of regional and national partners including American Whitewater, American Rivers, Native Fish Society, Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen’s Associations, and Trout Unlimited to protect the Smith’s North Fork watershed lands in Oregon from strip mining.
